School Uniform Information
Uniforms vary across our Early Learning Centre, Primary School, and Junior College.
Please see the sections below for specific uniform guidelines for each area of the school.
Early Learning Centre Uniform
At Chapel Downs Early Learning Centre, children wear their own clothing.
We encourage clothing that is comfortable and allows for easy movement, supporting children as they explore, play, and learn throughout the day.
We also recommend keeping a spare change of clothes in your child’s bag, just in case they need it during the day.
Primary School Uniform
Our uniform is designed to be both practical and reflective of our school values, providing students with a sense of belonging and pride. The uniform is simple, comfortable, and suitable for everyday school activities.
Summer Uniform:
- Boys: Navy polo shirt, navy shorts or trousers, and black shoes.
- Girls: Navy polo shirt, navy skort or trousers, and black shoes.
- Sunhat: A wide-brimmed sunhat is required for outdoor activities during terms 1 and 4.
Winter Uniform:
- Boys: Navy polo shirt, fleece top or jacket, navy trousers or shorts, and black shoes.
- Girls: Navy polo shirt, fleece top or jacket, navy trousers or skort, and black shoes.
Sports Uniform (Years 4-6):
- Boys & Girls: Chapel Downs sports t-shirt, navy shorts, and sports shoes.
Footwear:
- Black, closed-toe shoes are required for everyday wear. For sports, students should wear sports shoes with appropriate grip.
Accessories:
- Students can wear a small, discrete hair tie or headband in navy or black.
- Jewellery: A watch, small stud earrings are permissible. Cultural items of jewellery may be worn.
Uniform Shop
Uniforms can be purchased directly from the school office. Please contact the school office to book an appointment for uniform fitting, for further details or to make enquiries about specific uniform items.
Uniform Expectations
The uniform must be worn neatly and with pride, following the guidelines set by the school.
Students should be dressed in the correct uniform for both academic and extracurricular activities.
Junior College Uniform
The Chapel Downs Junior College uniform is currently being developed by the Establishment Board, in consultation with students, whānau, and the wider community. This collaborative process ensures the uniform reflects the values and identity of our new college.
