Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC)
Our Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC) programme is renowned for offering high-quality, enriching experiences.
By providing students with real-life, hands-on activities, we help build their confidence and self-esteem. Stepping outside the classroom offers students the opportunity to discover more about themselves, explore new interests, form lasting friendships, develop leadership and outdoor skills, and enhance their academic learning in a practical, engaging way.
We believe that learning happens both inside and outside the classroom. Our Year 5 and Year 6 students take part in Otāra Sports Cluster events, giving them the chance to compete, build teamwork skills, and have fun with students from other schools. Throughout the year, all year levels enjoy trips that support classroom learning. Some of the places we have visited include MOTAT, the Maritime Museum, Stardome, Auckland Zoo, and Howick Historical Village.
We also bring learning to life by inviting special experiences into our school. These include exciting events like Book Week shows, visits from Duffy role models, specialist sports coaching, Junky Monkeys play-based learning, and Little Farm animal visits. These opportunities help make learning engaging, memorable, and connected to the real world.
